I won't bother mentioning the withdrawn images this week, as I already pulled them, and they were just a couple of old portrait images that weren't for sale anyway. I pulled them not because I didn't like them - they were quality images - but simply because they didn't showcase the type of portraiture I prefer to focus on. Instead, let 's just focus on the new!
The above two images are both new images to the gallery, though if you follow my Facebook page, you've already seen them recently. The first one, Happy Trails, is an image I shot near the trail head to Pancake Rocks/Horsethief Falls in Teller County back in the Fall (2012). I had originally worked a color version of it, which I really liked, but I recently revisited it and tried this sepia edit with a slightly tighter crop, and I really like the feel of it. I hope you do, too.
The second image, Chalk Creek, I took just this past weekend on a trip out to Chalk Creek Canyon (our final destination being the ghost town of St. Elmo - images to come from there later) with my family. This little section of waterfalls on Chalk Creek was only like 10 yards off the road, just off a little parking pullout. Usually I have to put a lot more work in (long hikes) to get such a reward, but this was just an easy walk down from the car! I love the B&W treatment on this image...
