The two images in this post are images I love because I enjoy the scenes, and because they remind me of a great hiking vacation I took a few years ago that I truly enjoyed - just days in the mountains, hiking up high peaks. However, as I've looked back on these images more recently, it has occurred to me that the images themselves were kind of dull, not my best artwork. They needed to either be removed from my portfolio, or at least strongly reprocessed to bring up the standard. You see, whereas I like the compositions well enough, these pictures were taken early enough in my photographic career that I shot and processed things much differently (much simpler), and I think the lesser skill set (compared to what I do now) shows.
So which to do? The answer is, a little of both! I've removed them from my Landscapes gallery on this website, but they are not yet going quietly into that good night. I've also reprocessed them, and they'll be reappearing soon in their new incarnations on a new website to be announced soon, one I've created specifically just for my Colorado landscape photography (and will showcase more of it than what I share here). So stay tuned!
