I recently added a couple of new black & white images to the Landscapes gallery. The image above, "Trees in the Mist", I made just this past weekend, when we had that wonderful winter fog roll in on Saturday. Those clouds dumped a little bit of snow Saturday morning, but then just hung around the mountains as fog for the rest of the day. This image was taken just about a half mile away from my house.
This image was made from a photograph I made in Chalk Creek Canyon last summer. The clouds were very intermittent that day, leaving us sometimes bathed in sunlight, and other times under dark cloud cover. My favorite moments were ones such as this, where just a bit of sunlight peaked out through a hole in the clouds, illuminating just small bits of the mountain. To enhance the effect a bit further, I also did a bit of burning on the foreground in post to really bring out the contrast. I hope you like it.
This weekend will be changing gears a bit again for me, shifting from landscapes back to people. I have a shoot with a couple models planned for Sunday, so should have some fun model/fashion images to present you next week (keep an eye on my Facebook page). I may get out for some winter landscape work on Saturday, but not entirely sure yet - have to see what the wife has in mind first. :)
Have a good weekend, everybody!
